World Cup South Africa 2010Seeing as that we are so close to the world's biggest tournament starting, I think it's important we write something about it.
The World Cup is the greatest tournament in the world. This year sees it for the first time in the African Continent. When South Africa won the right to host it many people and nations were some what disappointed. People including South Africans felt they were not ready to host such a prestige event. I personally think it will be great. I'm a huge rugby fan too, and back in 1995 South Africa hosted the Rugby World Cup. It was an amazing cup with South Africa winning. I can guarantee that it wont be the case in this tournament.
The favorites this time around are Brazil, Spain, and even England. Many are saying Argentina too, however I feel that under Maradona, Argentina will not win.
Living in Canada, we will see the first matches starting at 7:15 am with the last one starting at 2:15 pm. So for many we will be at work. But this year the CBC will be showing all the games online! So there is no need to leave your cubicle, desk, beach, backyard....anywhere your football heart desires. We can enjoy it anywhere! The tournament kicks off June 11. And for one month the world will enjoy a unity created by a ball and passion.
